Humans are a race of bipedal mammals hailing from Earth. Among the major Terrene Protectorate races, they were the first to discover warp travel in the early 22nd century. As such, many races they encountered in their early days of space travel have been heavily influenced by Human culture, most notably the Hylotl and the Novakid. The Apex and Aegi are genetic offshoots of Humanity as well.
With newly encountered threats in space, especially the Florans, the United Systems Colonial Federation was the first truly united form of government for the human race. It engaged in several conflicts with the Florans before being subject to a civil war with the New Terran Republic. In the end, the Terrene Protectorate was established and now serves as the main Human government.
